Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates could become the world’s first trillionaire, according to a report by Oxfam; an international network of organizations working as a group to alleviate global poverty, on wealth and inequality.

Already the richest man on earth, 61-year-old Gates could still amass more wealth if it continues to appreciate at the rate of return it has been for the past decade and become the world’s first trillionaire by age 86 or in 2042.

As mentioned in Newsmax, Oxfam said the world’s ultra-rich people have been earning an 11 percent rate of return since 2009.

“If billionaires continue to secure these returns, we could see the world’s first trillionaire in 25 years. In such an environment, if you are already rich, you have to try hard not to keep getting a lot richer,” Oxfam’s report said.
