- Three prisoners tried to escape from a Dubai police station on foot

- They were eventually recaptured after two hours
MANILA, Philippines – Three prisoners from an unnamed African country tried taking the shortest route to freedom by escaping from a Dubai police station last Wednesday, February 1.
A CCTV footage of the incident has been uploaded on You Tube. However, their escape attempt was cut short after they were arrested by police shortly thereafter.
According to Gulf News, the three suspects were arrested for robbery; victimizing bank customers around Naif area in Dubai.
“They were suspected of stealing from bank customers in Naif area and there were no handcuffs because they were still suspects,” said Major-General Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant to the Dubai Police Chief for Criminal Investigation Affair.
In the video, three men can be seen running one after the other inside what could be the police station. One officer even attempted, but failed to stop the last guy by trying to trip him on his feet.
The fugitives ran into the busy Naif street with a number of officers chasing after them. They were eventually arrested a few hours later.
“One of them was arrested immediately outside the police station, while the other two managed to escape. We arrested them after two hours,” said Mansouri.
Apparently, the prisoners took advantage of the rush hour inside the police station before dashing for their freedom.
An investigation has been launched on how the three prisoners managed to escape, the official added.
