• The CIDG took Senator De Lima’s mug shot and fingerprints
• Rep. Kaka Bag-ao said the senator was indignant while her mugshot was being taken
• Sen. Kiko Pangilinan said De Lima’s blood pressure spiked while undergoing booking procedure
Dinagat Islands Representative Arlene “Kaka” Bag-ao said Senator Leila De Lima kept shaking her head while the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) was taking her mugshot and fingerprints.
Rep. Bag-ao and Senator Francis Pangilinan accompanied De Lima at the PNP national headquarters in Camp Crame where she was brought by the CIDG team following her voluntary surrender in connection with the cases filed against her by the Department of Justice over her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
“Hindi niya maintindihan bakit niya kailangan gawin ‘yon kasi anong kasalanan niya. Makikita mo sa mukha niya ‘yong indignation na parang, ‘Gagawin ko ‘to kasi ito ‘yong proseso kahit hindi siya naniniwala na kailangan niyang gawin ito,” Rep. Bag-ao was quoted by Inquirer as saying.
[She could not understand why she have to do that. What’s her offense? You can see in her face the indignation as if saying “I’ll do this because it’s part of the process although she did not believe she have to do it”]
Senator Pangilinan said De Lima’s blood pressure spiked when she underwent a medical examination as part of the booking procedure for her arrest.
