• President Duterte rejects the retraining of rogue cops
• He ordered the suspension of all erring police officers
• Earlier, the NCRPO director had sent 387 NCRPO rogue cops to Camp Crame to undergo reformative training
President Rodrigo Duterte did not approve the planned retraining of hundreds of erring police officers; saying he would rather have them suspended to make certain that the ranks of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is cleansed.
“Yung sabi ni Bato na mag-retraining? No, they will be suspended, all of them.. Tapos mag-report sila diyan sa Malacañang, diyan sa opisina ko. Magtindig sila lahat diyan until I decide what to do with them,” the President said in a news briefing held in Davao City.
[The ones that Bato (PNP Chief Ronald “Bato” De la Rosa) said will undergo retraining? No, they will be suspended, all of them. Then they will report in Malacañang, here in my office. They will just stand there until I decide what to do with them]
“Bakit ko i-training yan? [why would you train them] Re-training to be better scalawags than what you are?”
According to Journal Online, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Oscar Albayalde had earlier sent three hundred and eighty-seven erring police officers from NCRPO to Camp Crame to undergo reformative retraining in line with the PNP’s massive internal cleansing.
