MANILA, Philippines – Finally there’s an explanation regarding the absence of veteran actor Eddie Garcia from ABS-CBN’s top-rating primetime series ‘Ang Probinsyano’.

Apparently, the 87-year-old versatile actor got into a car accident and is currently recovering. This was revealed in a Facebook post by one Edith R. Fider last Saturday, February 11.

“GET WELL SOON TITO EDDIE!…kung matagal-tagal nyo ng di nakikita sa Ang Probinsyano si tito Ed ay dahil naaksidente sya at kasalukuyang nagpapagaling. We miss you tito! Pagaling ka agad,” said Fider.

Asked by one commenter what exactly happened to the beloved, iconic Bicolano star known in local entertainment industry as ‘Manoy’, Fider said the actor got into a car accident but is doing well now.

Garcia joined the ‘Ang Probinsiyano’ cast in April last year. He played Don Emilio Syquia, a mafia leader.

Meanwhile, netizens are hoping ‘Manoy’ Eddie will get better as soon as possible to reprise his role in the Coco Martin-starrer popular teleserye.
