MANILA, Philippines – Fans of Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz rejoiced after it was confirmed that the two stars will reunite on the big screen; four years after their last movie project together. However, people are wondering about the reaction of Matteo Guidicelli, Sarah’s boyfriend, considering that the singer-actress admitted that she developed feelings for John Lloyd while they were filming in the past.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News‘ Marie Lozano, Matteo said that he’s happy for his girlfriend and fully supports her craft.

He revealed that he used to watch the films of Sarah and John Lloyd when he was still learning Tagalog and admitted that they really have undeniable chemistry onscreen.

“I’m happy for her. Whatever makes her happy, whatever evolves her as an artist, it will be good for her personal artistry or craft so I’m happy for her,” he said.

However, he admitted that he’s not sure if he won’t get jealous once the camera starts rolling for the two stars’ reunion movie, “Dear Future Husband”, but he emphasized that he understands.

The actor said: “Hindi pa naman [ako nagseselos]. Siyempre you can’t be sure not to be jealous, but I understand. We are all professionals here. She’s doing her work and I’m doing mine so everything is cool.”

Matteo added that as a couple, he and Sarah are honest and transparent with each other.

The couple celebrated their third anniversary in October last year via a short vacation in Oslob, Cebu.

Sarah admitted their relationship in a taped interview aired in ABS-CBN’s defunct late night show “Aquino and Abunda Tonight”.

She had also confirmed that their term of endearment is indeed “Mahal”.

Matteo was the first to admit that he calls Sarah “Mahal” after he mistakenly sent the text meant for his ladylove to the late director Wenn Deramas, who, in turn, posted it on Facebook.
