- The Department of Tourism is planning to bring the Mindanao-inspired outfits worn by the Miss Universe candidates to Berlin, Germany
- The gowns were created by local designers
- These were used during the Mindanao Tapestry Fashion show in Davao City in January
The Mindanao-inspired dresses worn by the Miss Universe candidates during the Davao leg of the competition last month are set to be displayed in an expo in Berlin, Germany.
ABS-CBN said in a story that the outfits will be showcased at the Internationale Tourismus Boerse (ITB), which is the largest travel exposition in Germany — something that could very well boost tourism in the Southern Philippines.
Tourism secretary Wanda Teo said the Davao fashion show was Miss Universe Organization President Paula Shugart’s favorite among the all the competition legs. This boosted their confidence to bring the showcase to the foreign expo.
The stunning designs during the show were created by fashion icon Renee Salud, together with local designers Alfonso Boy Guinoo, Aztec Barba, Dodjie Batu, Emi Englis, Egay Ayag, Benjie Panizales, Edgar Buyan, Wilson Limon, Silverio Anglacer and Kenny Ladaga.
