Puerto Rican actress, model and writer Dayanara Torres, who won the Miss Universe crown in 1993 and is currently in the country, talked about her past relationships in an interview with Karen Davila on ANC Headstart; specifically her break-up with Pinoy actor Aga Muhlach and her divorce with the famous American singer Marc Anthony.
In 1994, Torres visited the county during the 1994 Miss Universe pageant held in Manila where she eventually pursued a showbiz career and met actor Aga Muhlach. Their relationship lasted four years.
Asked if her break up with the actor was bad, Dayanara said it was not a terrible break up, but she recalled being hurt by it.
“It wasn’t a terrible breakup, but I do remember being hurt and wanting to go, wanting to pack my stuff, but you know it was the way it was supposed to be,” she told Karen Davila; adding they will always have great memories.
Since the break-up, the two have not been in touch with each other and moved on with their respective lives. Aga went on to marry Charlene Gonzales, who was the country’s representative for the Miss Universe 1994 pageant. Torres married singer Marc Anthony, but divorced him in 2004.
After her split with Anthony, Torres wrote a book with her sister titled “”Married to Me: How Committing to Myself Led to Triumph After Divorce.”
“This was a self help for people who were undergoing divorce or any traumatic events in their life,” she said of her book.
