Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said the operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) against the Abu Sayyaf and other local terrorist group in Mindanao is in full swing.
“I would like to inform my fellow Mindanaoans and Filipinos that the operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines against the Abu Sayyaf and other local terrorist groups are now in full swing,” the Inquirer quoted the defense chief as saying in a statement.
The defense secretary said the military would utilize available ground, air and sea assets against the terrorist groups and “we’ll leave them no room for escape.”
Lorenzana asked local residents and relatives of members of terrorist groups not to provide refuge to them.
[Do not help the terrorists. Should they run into your houses, don’t let them enter. Do not hide and coddle them. If they are your friends or relatives and you want to save them, convince them to go back to the fold of the government while there is still time]
