- Senator Leila De Lima will not be given special treatment if she is brought to Camp Crame for detention
- A small room with no airconditioning unit is being prepared for her
- Her cell is just a stone’s throw away from the cells of ex-lawmakers Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada
A small room with a toilet and no airconditioning unit but with a fan awaits Senator Leila De Lima should the Muntinlupa court handling her case decide to have her detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center at Camp Crame.
A GMA source, who declined to give more details for security reasons, described the cell as “dignified, decent, safe and secured.”
As per the Pressreader, Senator De Lima’s detention cell is just a stone’s throw away from the detention cells of former senators Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada, both indicted by De Lima for plunder in connection with the “pork barrel” scam, allegedly masterminded by Janet Lim-Napoles, when she was still the Secretary of the Department of Justice.
A room adjacent to De Lima’s possible detention cell is being readied to be her office.
The lady senator voluntarily surrendered on Friday morning, February 24, to the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group led by its director Chief Supt. Roel Obusan. She has expressed her readiness to be jailed; saying it is an honor to be jailed for what she is fighting for.
The senator insisted on her innocence and hoped that the truth will prevail.
