Police probers revealed that a Korean national served as a go-between for the kidnappers of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo and his widow, Choi Kyung-jin.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Kidnapping Group director Senior Supt. Glenn Dumlao said the Korean intermediary has links to the group of Senior Police Officer 3 Ricky Sta. Isabel; one of the suspected masterminds of the kidnap-slay of Jee.
“Actually, may go-between na Korean na nag-advise kay Mrs. Choi Kyung-jin na to go with the ransom tapos humingi pa ng pera na P600,000 pampabilis daw sa imbestigasyon,” GMA quoted Dumlao as telling reporters.

A deeper investigation revealed the Korean’s link to Sta. Isabel’s group, Dumlao said.
A case has not been filed against the go-between as Dumlao’s Korean counterpart has yet to turn over the person to the PNP. Dumlao also said they have yet to get the statement of Jee’s widow regarding the matter.
