- A man was abandoned by his wife after losing his eyesight to diabetes
- Now he is forced to beg on the streets with his two children
- The sharer is hoping people would help the family
MANILA, Philippines – A father-of-two who was abandoned by his wife after he lost his eyesight is forced to beg on the streets for food and money with his two children.
The blind man has been identified in a Facebook post by Maricar Bio Saplagio as Reynaldo Cebuco. He is believed to be from Purok 7, Poblacion in the town of Sulop, Davao Del Sur.
Cebuco has two children – an 11-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy – who are both in Grade 3. The two kids would often accompany their father to beg on the streets.
According to the sharer’s story, Cebuco used to work as a welder. But after losing his eyesight due to diabetes, his wife has abandoned him and their children.
“Naisip namin ‘to na epost kasi baka may gusto tumulong sa kanila lalo na sa kanyang mga anak nasa murang edad pa, naghahanap buhay maghihingi para lang may makain,” the sharer wrote in the caption.
[We thought of posting this in hopes of finding someone who might be able to help them, especially the young children who are begging just to feed themselves.]
The post has gone viral on social media after it was shared by several websites who took pity on the plight of the poor family.
