The Philippines is known to be a powerhouse country; not only in boxing and beauty pageants but also in singing. One proof of this is the fact that we have local singers which were invited to perform in the international scene. Some of the artists who have made it to the global spotlight are Lea Salonga, Charice Pempengco, Billy Joe Crawford, Sarah Geronimo and Rachelle Ann Go.
Recently, another Filipina, Gaby Borromeo, joined The Voice US and got picked to join Team Adam. Last week, she was eliminated from the show. However, the coaches believe she has what it takes to win the contest.
Now, a youngster from Iriga City, is currently trending on Facebook as his friend Myla Copreros posted on her Facebook account, a video of the boy flawlessly singing “Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin” ala Regine Velasquez. Aside from that, he also rocked Beyonce’s “Listen.”
In what seemed to be an intermission from a day of school work, the young boy belted it out and made his classmates happy. And now, everyone is enjoying his covers. What surprised a lot of people is the way he hit the high notes even if he’s just sitting. He even used head tone at the end of the Beyonce cover. It wouldn’t be surprising if he will be invited to join the next edition of The Voice Kids Philippines. Some are encouraging him to join “It’s Showtime!” Tawag ng Tanghalan.
What do you think? Should he use his social media exposure to propel himself to stardom?
Update: He is Auriz Lorens Judavar. A Grade 11 SHS student of the University of Saint Anthony, Iriga City. He is from Baao, Camarines Sur. We hope he gets to join a talent search because he is blessed with a wonderful voice!
As of the moment, the boy in the video has not been identified. If you know him, please comment on so we can tap him and give him our praises as well! For now, watch the jaw-dropping singing video here:
