Manila, Philippines – Looking to give pride and honor as the Philippine representative to any of the international beauty pageants, Maria Camille Manalo is now one of the official candidates for Binibining Pilipinas 2017. However, aside from being a statuesque beauty, this lass has a very interesting background that would surely catch you off guard.
Maria Camille Manalo, who is now under the Aces & Queens Beauty Camp, will be trying her luck to win one of the much-coveted crowns this year. But little do we know that she was once a SEA Games gold medalist. Manalo, who was 20 at that time, represented the Philippines in the 2011 South East Asian Games which was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. She was also a UAAP alum, who played for the University of Santo Tomas.
Currently, she is 26 and will be competing in a national pageant for the first time. The pageant’s age eligibility is 18-26 years old so this is also her last chance to bag a crown.
As reported by ABS-CBN News, Maria Camille Manalo finished Bachelors in Library and Information Science and aside from competing in the 2011 SEA Games, she also went on to compete at the Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010. Manalo was also named as UAAP Season 73 “Athlete of the Year.” In her collegiate career with the UST Growling Tigresses, she bagged a total of three golds and two silvers.
Manalo joins thirty-nine other ladies, getting one step closer to their dreams of becoming one of the Binibining Pilipinas queens. Maxine Medina, Kylie Verzosa, Nicole Cordoves, Nichole Manalo, Joanna Eden, Jennifer Hammond will soon be relinquishing their crowns to six lucky Filipinas who will be representing the country in Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Grand International, Miss Globe, Miss Supranational and Miss Intercontinental later this year.
