After a ‘Steve Harvey’ moment, Bunga Jelitha Ibrani announced as Puteri Indonesia 2017!

Sounds familiar?

Meet Bunga Jelitha Ibrani;  the Miss Puteri Indonesia 2017. She will be representing Indonesia in the next Miss Universe pageant. However, prior to the crowning glory, a mix-up took place during the announcement of the winners. In what seemed to be another “Steve Harvey” moment (referring to the Miss Universe 2015 announcement blunder), Ibrani was initially announced as the second runner-up.

The judges realized the mix-up and corrected `the mistake immediately. The hosts quickly told the girls to go back to their places and Karina Nadila from NTT was announced as the second runner-up. She will represent Indonesia in Miss Supranational 2017.

The first runner-up was then announced and it was Kevin Liliana from Jawa Barat. She will be representing Indonesia in the Miss International 2017.

Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere was a special guest for this year. Top 12 finalist in the recently-held Miss Universe in the Philippines, Puteri Indonesia 2016 Kezia Warouw crowned Bunga Jelitha Ibrani.

Indonesia is slowly becoming a pageant powerhouse in Asia. In the previous years, candidates from Indonesia always made it to the finalists for Miss Universe. Last year, Indonesia won Miss Grand International and placed as runners-up in the Miss International and Miss World.

What do you think of Bunga Jelitha Ibrani as Indonesia’s Miss U rep? Will she be a strong contender in the Miss Universe 2017?
