- Vice President Leni Robredo’s satisfaction rating slides down
- Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV pointed out that the reason behind the decline is “black propaganda”
- Robredo’s net satisfaction rating from March 25 to 28 dropped by 11 points, from a “good” +37 to a “moderate” +26
Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV pointed out that “black propaganda” is the reason why Vice President Leni Robredo’s satisfaction rating has declined.
The senator was quoted in an article published by GMA News Online saying via text message: “This was expected with all the black propaganda against her, but it only affected a small percentage of the respondents, as the majority are still supportive of the Vice President.”
As such, Sen. Aquino said that for Robredo to bounce back her office needs to focus and continue pushing her agenda of uplifting the lives of our marginalized countrymen, and find a way to ensure that [the] message of hope and solidarity is louder than the mudslinging done by her detractors.
Based on a recent result of Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey which was conducted from March 25 to 28 using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide, Robredo’s net satisfaction rating dropped by 11 points, from a “good” +37 to a “moderate” +26.
As noted in the result, Robredo’s net rating (percentage satisfied minus percentage dissatisfied) took the biggest dip among the government’s top officials, with 53 percent of respondents satisfied with Robredo, 27 percent dissatisfied, and 19 percent undecided.
Just a week before the survey was conducted, House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez said he will file an impeachment complaint against the Vice President over her video to the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs, wherein she raised concerns on alleged police abuses, including the “palit-ulo” scheme.
As a backgrounder, the SWS uses the following classification:
+70 and above – excellent
+50 to +69 – very good
+30 to +49 – good
+10 to +29 – moderate
+9 to -9 – neutral
-10 to -29 – poor
-30 to -49 – bad
-50 to -69 – very bad
-70 and below – execrable
Meanwhile, Robredo’s camp said the decline in her satisfaction rating was a reminder to reach out to more Filipinos.
