In the recent Cinemacon 2017, a star studded convention for the presentation of the upcoming films held at Las Vegas Nevada, big Hollywood stars were seen in full force including Kirsten Dunst, Director Sofia Coppola, and Colin Farrell who have big admiration to the Philippines and its people.
Actress Kirsten Dunst can’t forget how great the Filipino actress Jacklyn Jose was during her performance as she portrayed the role of a sweet-shop owner and small-time drug dealer in “Ma’ Rosa.”
“I was on the jury of the Cannes last year, the Cannes film festival and they gave to a Filipino actress, yeah she was amazing,” she said referring to Jacklyn Jose winning the Best Actress Award at the Cannes film festival last year.
Dunst together with Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning and Colin Farrell were in the movie “The Beguiled” an American drama film written and directed by Sofia Coppola which will be released on theaters on June 23, 2017.
Director Coppola remembered her experience living in the Philippines when she shot the movie “Apocalypse Now.” “It’s a country of such a beautiful culture and people and I have nice memories of being there as a child,” she commented.
Meanwhile, Colin Farrell, an Irish actor shared his amazing experience working with some incredible Filipino actresses in a story that was really dramatic. He also expressed his high regards to Filipino nurses and Filipino Health Care workers in Ireland. “I love the Philippines! I’m not even joking with you. Irish hospitals are full of Filipinos.” He told TV News correspondent Bev Llorente of ABS-CBN Global during the interview.
Furthermore, “The Book of Henry” Director Colin Trevorrow and main star Naomi Watts couldn’t contain their excitement of getting their movie released in the Philippines as well. They hope the Filipinos would enjoy the film which will also be released in June.
