Filipino member of San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus dies onstage while performing

SAN FRANCISCO — A Filipino member of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC), Ryan Nunez, 39, died on stage during an intermission of the choir’s performance on Friday night.

Halfway through the production concert “Paradise Found” held at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco, Nunez collapsed and died.

Chorus members lined up and took turns to administer CPR on Nunez until the paramedics arrived but he passed away within the hour

Nunez was part of the production not only as a singer but as Administrative Coordinator of the SFGMC staff.

“We have suffered one of the most profound tragedies and losses one can imagine,” SFGMC said in a statement on their Facebook page.

His SFGMC brothers describe him as their “voice to the world” who is humorous and earnest to all; taking care of everyone.

A $20,000 worth of money was the expected goal to be raised through a GoFundMe account to help Nunez’s family with the funeral expenses.

His SFGMC brother are still mourning and will continue to sing in his honor.

Dear Chorus Family. It is with broken hearts that we share this news. We have suffered one of the most profound…
