“My brother is jobless and he is eager to go back to work with the government, even without any title.”
This was stated by Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos as she noted that her brother, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., is eager to go back to work in whatever capacity he can to help the administration of President Duterte, an article written by Edith Regalado on Philippine Star mentioned.
In stating this, she said her brother is just waiting for any job offer, especially since the ban on losing candidates taking on posts ends next month.
Currently, the lady governor joined the President yesterday on his three-country state visits to the Middle East.
Earlier, rumors have been circulating that former senator Bongbong Marcos might be appointed Interior and Local Government secretary by the Chief Executive after Ismael Sueno was sacked amid allegations of corruption and other abuses.
However, the President, stressed that he is still scouting and carefully studying options for people to fill positions in his Cabinet.
Meanwhile, Bongbong was earlier quoted saying: “If a president asks you to serve in whatever capacity, hindi mo naman puwede hindian. Siyempre, para sa bansa ‘yan. Of course, I will be happy, I will be proud, I will be honored to serve in any position in the Duterte administration.”
[You can’t just say no. Of course, it’s for the country.]
He noted, however, that Pres. Duterte has not offered him any post yet.
It has been common knowledge that the President has been openly acknowledging the support he received from the Marcoses when he ran in the May 2016 presidential elections.
