Wao, Lanao del Sur- A 5.2 Magnitude earth quake was felt in parts of Mindanao early morning of Easter Sunday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake was a tectonic in origin and traced between 12 to 24 kilometers of Wao, Lanao del Sur.
The magnitude 5.2 was felt at intensity 5 in Wao, Lanao del Sur; Intensity 4 – Kalilangan, Bukidnon; Intensity 3 – Cotabato City; Intensity 2 – Cagayan de Oro and Quezon, Bukidnon.
Phivolcs said no casualty was reported and warned that more aftershocks are expected.
Prior to the Magnitude 5.2 earthquake, seismologists recorded a 4.3 magnitude earthquake at 4:37am and immediately followed by a magnitude 3.3 at 4:48am. Lanao del Sur had experienced prior tremor. Last Holy Wednesday, a magnitude-6.0 earthquake jolted Wao, Lanao del Sur.
The Catholic Church in Wao has appealed to the public for safe drinking water for the quake victims as sources of water had been affected by small landslides.
