MANILA, Philippines – A Sorsogon provincial board member has been shot dead by riding-in-tandem on Tuesday morning, April 11.
The victim was identified as 1st District Board Member Pedro “Peter”Alindogan Ravanilla, 64, and a three-termer Councilor of Sorsogon City before being elected to the provincial board.
According to Senior Superintendent Ronald Cabral, Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, Ravanilla was shot by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants around 8:30 am in front of Roda Building along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Pangpang where the victim also resides.
“The victim was fixing his establishment together with his foreman Honorio Deniega when suddenly an unidentified gunman from behind the victim drew a short firearm and shot him three times,” said Cabral.
Meanwhile, Sorsogon Governor Robert Lee Rodrigueza has offered P100,000 for any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
“His untimely demise is a big loss to the Province of Sorsogon,” a statement from the governor said. “Our deepest sympathies to the bereaved family of the late BM Ravanilla; may his soul find eternal peace with God.”
