• Senator Lacson wants to find out who financed Lascañas and his family’s trip to Singapore
• Lacson said Singapore is an expensive place to stay
• On April 8, Lascañas went to Singapore after claiming he received threats that lawsuits will be filed against him
Senator Panfilo Lacson wants to find out who spent for former cop Arturo Lascañas and his family’s trip to Singapore.
Lascañas left the country for Singapore on Saturday, April 8; saying it is better for him to leave after receiving threats that lawsuits will be filed against him, while his family had left for Singapore before he testified at the Senate hearing last March.
“It may be worth to find out who spent for his and his family’s trips and accommodations in Singapore which is an expensive place to stay. Contrary to reports that he left quietly, I don’t see that since he allowed himself to be accompanied by a news reporter,” Lacson said.
According to Inquirer, Lascañas made a complete turnaround from his statements last year at a Senate investigation where he denied involvement in the DDS, as well as allegations made by another self-confessed DDS member, Edgar Matobato.
During a Senate hearing last month, Lascañas linked President Rodrigo Duterte to the extrajudicial killings in Davao City during Duterte’s incumbency as the city mayor.
Senator Lacson believes that those who sponsored his retraction and media interviews are most likely the ones who spent for Lascanas and his family’s trip to Singapore.
