Fourteen people were hurt following an explosion in Quiapo, Manila on Friday, April 28; possibly due to a gang war days before the incident.
In an article posted on Rappler, it was disclosed that 14 persons were hurt during the explosion, including two who have been severely injured.
The explosion took place at a Quezon Boulevard service road which leads to Recto Avenue at 10:49 p.m.
Manolo Jeremias, official of Barangay 391 in Manila, said two men on a motorcycle pulled up before an explosion was heard.
Meanwhile, Jeremias revealed that one of the injured victims had lost his buttocks, while another lost a foot.
Ernesto Abella, spokesman for President Duterte, disclosed in a statement that the incident is not in any way connected to or directed (at) the ongoing ASEAN summit, as per an Inquirer story.
“We assure our people that security measures are in place in today’s event and ask the public for their full understanding and cooperation in this regard,” he added.
