Keifer Sanchez, one of the Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids contestants on the April 22nd episode of It’s Showtime! wowed all of the judges with her rendition of the iconic Freddie Aguilar classic “Anak”. His rendition is so distinct that the judges gave him a score of 95.4% for his performance.
“Anak” has been recorded and sang in numerous ways. It has hundreds or even thousands of different versions but Sanchez’s version tugs at the heart and that is the reason why he kept his title from his daily challenger, Maria Kristianna Trinidad.
Trinidad sang Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” to challenge Sanchez. Although excellent, it was still Sanchez’s performance that hit the judges to their hearts. This brings his win for the third consecutive time.

According to Keifer Sanchez, aside from the fact that he wants to help his parents, he joined “Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids” because he wanted to become popular on TV and see himself singing in front of many people. He will be defending his title on It’s Showtime! episode on Monday.
