[Video] Metrowaste Corp. immediately settles employee’s medical expenses after being reported to “Tulfo in Aksyon”

More and more people are seeking the assistance of Raffy Tulfo in Action!

Gladys Balleras, the mother of the employee who was denied medical assistance by his employer, sought the help of “Raffy Tulfo in Action” on Tuesday, April 3, 2017.

Aling Gladys narrated how his son Kenneth was going through an excruciating pain after he met an accident at Metrowaste Solid Waste Management Corportion where he is currently employed as a truck helper or “pahinante” because they cannot buy painkillers and antibiotics.

According to her, Kenneth’s hand got hit by the truck’s roll up door that nearly caused him to lose his four fingers.

Despite her request for assistance, the company ignored her and told her to look for money herself and have it reimbursed from them afterwards.

“Ay hindi pwede. Dapat agad-agad lumabas sila ng pera.” Tulfo butted in.

Since they don’t have money to buy for the prescribed medicine, she had just been begging from other patients for dextrose to clean Kenneth’s wounds.

“Alam n’yo ho kaya ko hong sagutin to, kaya lang ang ayoko lang ho, obligasyon ho kasi to ng kumpanya kasi pag sinagot ko to ngingisi itong kumpanya. Gusto ko ho managot muna itong Metrowaste Corporation,” Tulfo said.

“At kapag ‘di sila managaot ay gagawa tayo ng mga hakbang  para maobliga sila na umaksyon. Iipitin natin mga lisensya at kung anu-ano pa,” he added.

After hearing the complaint of the mother, Tulfo got a representative from the Office of the Mayor of Muntinlupa on the phone — Ms. Nanette Gomez  — to ask for help. He communicated the poor family’s situation of not getting any financial help from the company.

Gomez agreed to send a staff from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) to “Ospital ng Muntinlupa” where Keneth is confined to give immediate support while Tulfo’s team, on the other hand, in coordination with the City Government of Muntinlupa, will investigate against the company’s failed labor manpower responsibility.

However, before Tulfo’s crew was able to reach the hospital, it was reported that the company has already settled the hospital bill of Kenneth Balleras amounting to P87,381.50 and even gave more than P12,000 cash solely for reimbursement of all the expenses incurred.
