Morissette, one of the semifinalists of “The Voice of the Philippines” Season 1, is becoming a bigger star by the moment.
After her stint on the singing competition, opportunities came rushing in for the proud member of ASAP’s Birit Queens. Along with Jona, Angeline Quinto and Klarisse de Guzman, Morissette is now a staple performer in the show and their four-some performances is one of the most-anticipated segments of the show.
Now, Morissette is ready for her upcoming concert, “Platinum”, where she will be performing with Tanya Manalang, a former “Miss Saigon” cast member. The concert will be held on May 6 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.
In the press conference held for the aforementioned concert, in attendance was Ogie Alcasid – and he was indeed impressed and blown away with Morrisette’s performance of Regine Velasquez’s “Narito Ako.” According to Ogie Alcasid, the husband of Asia’s Songbird: “Nakakaloka siya.” [She’s out of this world.]
He also added that he had goosebumps when Morissette performed the piece of his wife. He added that she is one of the young talents that keep OPM alive. Alcasid also added: “Nakakatuwa kasi first love ko talaga ang Filipino music so whenever na binibigyang halaga ang Filipino music — lalo na tulad nilang mga bata — natutuwa ako.” [I am very happy because OPM is my first love and whenever young talents like Morissette give justice to these songs, I am pleased.]
Asked if she got conscious over Ogie’s presence, the young artist said she barely looked at him as she doesn’t want to see his reactions.
