Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ is probably one of the most covered songs on You Tube; with the versions of Jon Bon Jovi and Irish priest Ray Kelly, perhaps two of the most popular, racking up millions of views.
But this 17-year-old girl from Kansas took a step further by singing the song into a wishing well in Italy, and the result was amazing.
Tiffany Day was visiting Venice with her Kansas high school choir during a spring break when she came across a wishing well in Venice and gave it a try; curious as to how her voice would sound.
Her version did not disappoint the listeners. It was mesmerizing; her voice enhanced by the well’s deep echo.
Day posted the 48-second video last month and has since gone viral on social media.
Her followers on Twitter were moved and impressed by her angelic voice; saying she should have completed the song.
“I already listened to this 4 times. This is excellent,” said one commenter.
“I’ve watched this so many times and I’m still obsessed,” added another.
Day’s Twitter video has been favorited more than 318,000 times and retweeted more than 132,000 times.
