14-month-old baby laughs as fire fighters try to get him out of a locked car

A 14-month-old baby from Cornwall, UK accidentally activated the central locking system of their car; causing him to get trapped inside while his mother just unloaded the groceries into its boot.

Strangely, the infant didn’t get terrified; instead, he kept smiling and laughing while he was being rescued by the firefighters.

The photo of the adorable Brandon Emery flashing an immense, delightful smile as he grasped the guiding wheel has left everybody in shock.

However, the pressure and tension of the circumstance, apparently, can be felt as five firefighters were seen attempting to free him from the bolted vehicle.

“His mother, Kirsty Green, was loading the car with shopping in Bude when she realized 14-month-old son Brandon had activated the car’s central locking system,” reported the Independent as cited in an Indian Express story.

“He’d been in the little child seat of the shopping trolley but it didn’t have any straps, so he kept trying to stand up while I was shopping, I decided to put him in the back of the car while I was unloading the shopping so he didn’t keep trying to stand up in the trolley,” Green said; revealing she absent-mindedly placed her car keys in the boot while she was loading the car.

She soon realized she had forgotten to pick them up – when her son pushed down the central locks inside the car.

Luckily, some of the other shoppers rushed to help her out, where one among them was working in Lidl and called 101.

The rescue crew initially took small hand tools in an attempt to free the toddler, but eventually had to crush the auto’s back window and climb into the car, after they noticed Brandon managed to get hold of a two-pence coin and put it in his mouth.

“That’s when I started to panic, because I thought, “Oh God, what if he chokes on it”,’ Green said.

Nonetheless, Brandon was successfully saved by the crews from Bude Community Fire Station, led by Watch Manager Matthew Wonnacott. The men were lauded for their ‘brilliant’ rescue efforts.

“They were amazing, and I think just as much as they were keeping Brandon entertained, he was equally making them laugh,” she added.
