Christopher de Leon, Sandy Andolong proud parents over their daughter’s Bb. Pilipinas International win

For parents, seeing their child achieve a dream is already a good reason to celebrate.  So when Mariel de Leon was crowned as the Binibining Pilipinas International, her parents, actors  Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong, were surely among the happiest people that night.

Her father said it was the “most exciting time of my life.” It was a dream that came true for her.

The veteran actor was praying for this night and now that it finally came true, he’s more than happy.

What was his advice to her daughter?

Being a father, de Leon had only one advice to his daughter. “It’s always humility and victory.”

Her mother Andolong was also happy with the achievement of their daughter; she said: “She’s a princess. She’s our princess. Now she’s a queen. This is very special. This has been her dream. Second time na nga and finally, she won. She really prepared for this. Talagang determined.”

This wasn’t the first time that she joined the contest as she already joined back in 2013, but she only managed to get to the top 15.

Both her parents gave their all-out support to Mariel de Leon when she joined the Binibining Pilipinas.  The couple even asked people on Facebook every day to support their daughter before the coronation night.

Now that she won the title, she said: “I haven’t absorbed anything yet. Miss International is the crown I’ve also wanted besides [the Universe]. I am really proud of how far I’ve come. It’s just the start of another adventure.”
