- Being a hands-on mom to your children when you are in the showbiz industry is almost close to impossible
- But Iya Villana has always believed in hands-on parenting even before giving birth
- She shares the wisdom in taking full responsibility over parenting duties
Being a mom is a lot of hardwork and it needs 100% of your time so a lot of showbiz personalities often hire nannies when they decide to have babies.
Kapuso host, Iya Villania, has always believed in being a hands-on mom so when she gave birth to her first son, Antonio Primo, she really didn’t hire any help. In her July 2016 interview, she said she didn’t plan on getting a nanny because she was confident that her mom can always lend a helping hand; adding that she only wants to ask help when she’s not at home or she has to do something.
Iya and her husband Drew Arellano had their first baby last August 30, 2016.
Three months after he was born, the couple got “angels” at home who help their family from daily disasters involving their baby.
In a recent interview with Pep at the Bambini baby Cologne Family Bootcamp, Iya said that when they had a yaya, the yaya would do a lot more.
She realized after a while that there’s wisdom in taking full resposnsibility over your own child.
The 31-year-old TV show host have come to appreciate not being reliant on someone because it gave her more fulfillment as a mother.
“At least I know I’m responsible for anything that I forget. Kunwari maiinis ako na, ‘Ba’t nakalimutan ‘yung pacifier, or, ‘Ay, hindi mo naisip dalhin ‘yung gatas.’
“At least, I don’t have to blame anyone but myself now,” she explained further.
And it helps that her husband supports her and is as hands-on as she is.
Drew just needs a little reminder from her from time to time because Iya said it’s not as innate for the dad as it is for the mom.
On Instagram, they recently announced that they will be having a second baby.
