Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents have captured two drug suspects in a drug buy-bust operation in Quezon City.
The anti-illegal drug operation was conducted across a Fairview mall around 9 a.m. Thursday.
The authorities seized 500 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2.5 million pesos.
The suspects were identified as Sahara Abal Abdurahman and Lim Akik Abdula, both from Jolo, Sulu and residents of Fairview.
They are facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
On Wednesday in Cebu City, a 26-year-old student was also caught in possession of suspected shabu worth P2.5 million pesos.
Earlier this week, PDEA gave more than P6 million in rewards to its high-performing operating units and civilian informants or tipsters as part of the program “PDEA Operation: Lawmen,” an incentive program for “meritorious anti-drug operations.” Funding for the cash rewards came from the agency’s annual budget.
