Seventeen inmates escaped a police jail in Zamboanga City on Tuesday, April 10.
Superintendent Hadjiri Langgal, chief of the Tetuan Police Station 6, confirmed with GMA that the 17 inmates bolted their jail at around 2:50 a.m. by sawing off the iron grills of their detention cell using a hacksaw belt.
By 5:30 a.m., three inmates were rearrested but 14 are still on the loose and are being hunted down by the Zamboanga police. Langgal revealed that majority of the escaped inmates were facing drug charges.
