- An 18-year-old fisherman was arrested during a drug buy-bust operation in Cagayan de Oro City
- He was considered a high-value target because of the P300,000 worth shabu seized from him
A fisherman was arrested during a drug buy-bust operation in his house at Barangay Bayabas, Cagayan de Oro City.
Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and City Drug Enforcement Unit of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office conducted the anti-illegal drug operation wherein they were able to purchase a packet of shabu from the 18-year-old suspect.
Aside from the P1,000 marked money, also seized from the suspect were 4 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of more than P300,000.
He was considered a high-value target (HVT) by the authorities because of the amount of drugs he possessed.
“Wala siyang permanenteng trabaho pero isa siyang mangingisda dahil aniya may maliit siyang bangka. Sa tingin ko siguro ito ‘yung pangunahin niyang pinagkakakitaan dahil sa dami ng droga na nakuha mula sa kaniya,” said Chief Inspector Mulat.
[He has no permanent job but he’s a fisherman because he said he has a small banca. I think this (drugs) is his primary source of income because of the enormous amount seized from him.]
The suspect declined to provide any statement and is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
