Two soldiers of the government were wounded during an encounter between the Philippine Army and members of BIFF on Monday.
According to the military, the wounded soldiers only suffered minor injuries.
The authorities did not disclose yet the names of the wounded.
The Army’s 601st Infantry Brigade reportedly conducted a clearing operation on Monday, particularly at Barangay Kitango, Datu Saudi Ampatuan after they received information about the presence of BIFF forces in the area.
The government troops have previously encountered the group of 7 BIFF members.
They were also able to pinpoint the arms manufacturing area of the ISIS-inspired group named Jamaatul Muhajireen Wal Ansar, which is led by a certain Abo Turayfie, a former member of BIFF at Barangay Pagatin in Datu Salibo.
Based on the record of the local government of Datu Saudi Ampatuan, 405 families were affected by the clash.
