- Miss Universe – Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray reacted positively about her crown which looks pretty similar to another crown being sold online
- The 24-year-old title holder also answered controversies about her Best Swimsuit award
- She also felt very happy that despite some criticisms, her patriotic gesture during the coronation night was well-appreciated by many
After her vacation, beauty queen Catriona Gray joined the commemoration of the 11th World Autism Awareness event at Araneta Center, Cubao. Together with her 2018 batch mates in Binibining Pilipinas queens, Gray supported the event.
The newly crowned Miss Universe-PH faced different issues thrown at her in the event.
Some of the controversies include the criticism from some former beauty title holders who questioned why she got the Best In Swimsuit award in the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
The Fil-Australian beauty responded calmly when she said, “I just want to promote positivity online. The fans all united in supporting the queens of the 2018 batch. It was as an amazing batch if I may say so myself and I think the future is very bright for us so please just keep spreading the love, unity, and positivity online and our journeys for the crown.”
Despite having some bashers, Catriona was very grateful and happy over some positive comments she received from her performance during the coronation night. One of the things they appreciated about her is her patriotic gesture.
The popular Three Stars and the Sun ear cuff has been complimented by many. With this she felt very happy with regards to those positive feedback since she succeeded in achieving her goal to have a “touch of patriotism” in her evening gown.
Another issue she tackled was that her crown, which is supposed to be very extravagant-looking, resembles a cheap one which is being sold online.
According to the 24-year-old beauty pageant title holder, the crown is not really important for beauty queens like her. She added, “I don’t have a problem with it. It’s the queen that makes the crowns so I’m sure that each of us queens will leave a legacy to the crowns no matter what the design.”
For her, the person who holds the crown and what she does with the opportunity she received is much more important than the actual crown itself.
