Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Leonor Briones congratulated the first batch of Senior High School (SHS) graduates; expressing high hopes that they will be able to help create a better, happier, and more hopeful country.
Briones told the graduates that they have fought a good fight during their SHS years but there is still another battle ahead of them.
“You have fought a good fight in Senior High School, but another fight lies ahead of you,” she said; adding she is very confident though that the children are equipped with skills and knowledge which they can use in facing the world outside.
“But I’m very confident that we have equipped you with skills and knowledge that you can use in facing the world outside, the world of work, or the world of the academics,” she expressed.
“Go out into the world and be good citizens of this country. We look forward to the time you’ll create a better world for your fellow Filipinos, especially for those who are not wearing their togas the way you are wearing yours today. Go with all our hopes and love,” she further stated.
