A McDonald’s customer was in for a nasty surprise when she bit into her chicken sandwich Monday afternoon.
Ciara Harvie, from Longniddry, East Lothian, was left disgusted after she found a dead spider in her McChicken Sandwich.
According to the Sun, 20-year-old ordered a McChicken Sandwich from the chain’s drive through at Fort Kinnaird in Edinburgh.
But after taking a bite into her £3.19 burger she found the spider wedged between strands of lettuce.
Ciara immediately took the burger back to the store on Monday afternoon to be met by a manager who she claims would not apologize.
The manager instead gave her a replacement burger which she refused to eat.
McDonald’s has since apologized and offered Ciara another replacement meal — which she also declined.
Ciara posted the incident on Facebook with a picture of the dead spider hidden in the shredded lettuce on the top of her burger.
The spider’s body and legs are clearly visible in one of the close-up pictures.
“Went to McDonald’s at Fort Kinnaird today and found a dead spider in my burger,” she wrote.
