Five members of a robbery group called “Carwash Gang” were arrested during an operation launched by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
QCPD Director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar identified the suspects as Annie Bautista, 39 years old; Joven Sabalza, 19; Roel Mendoza, 26; Jace Solis, 24, and John Asuncion, 33.
As per Abante TNT, the suspects were traced at their hideout in 4-B North Ville Barangay Lambakin, Marilao, Bulacan through the Global Positioning System application installed in mobile phones taken by the suspects from the employees of two carwash establishments they robbed.
The victims of the group went to QCPD during the media presentation of the suspects and positively identified the members of the rob gang.
Eleazar said the suspects pretended to have their motorcycles washed before robbing the establishment.
Recovered from the suspects were P242,000 cash, several mobile phones, wristwatches, stolen motorcycles which they used as their getaway vehicles, three firearms and several pieces of ammunition. A gun replica was also seized from them.
