Honor certificates with politician’s face receives online criticism

  • Jessica Zurc expressed dismay with the government leaders allegedly taking advantage of the graduation period
  • The post went viral on social media

A netizen expressed her disgust towards politicians who are purportedly taking advantage of the graduation period for their personal interests, as per a GMA News story.

Jessica Zurc, on April 2, posted photographs of honor certificates received by her niece and nephew containing images of Malabon City Representative Ricky Sandoval and Malabon Vice Mayor Jeannie Sandoval. She pointed out that the pictures of the government leaders were apparently even much bigger than those of the awardee.

“Ano ba pati award ng mga bata kaylangan lagyan ng mukha nyo?? Paano naman namin ipapaskil sa mga bahay namin yan kung mas malaki pa ang picture nyong magasawa kaysa sa pangalan ng bata??” she said.

[Why do you need to put your face in the award? How can we post it in our abode if your images are bigger than the children?]

She added, a graduation ceremony is done to recognize the hardships of children in a school year and should not be used for campaigning.

Jessica, moreover, said the politicians on the photo should have gone to the stage instead of the children — but they were absent. She also criticized the medals with pink straps.

“Hindi naman sa big deal ito dahil madaming problema ang mundo, Hindi lang talaga ikinatuwa ng madaming magulang sa Malabon dahil bawat parangal na makuha ng bawat anak ay importante sa Magulang at pamilya.”

[This is not a big deal because the worldalready has many problems. It ‘s just that many parents weren’t happy with this as each recognition received by their children are important to them.]

Many netizens were able to relate to Jessica as seen in the post’s comment section. Others even posted certificates they got which also include a photograph of politicians.

As of posting, the FB post garnered more than 1.8K likes and nearly 1,500 shares.

Kicker Daily is open to hearing the side of the politicians in the photo.
