- Crazed motorist caused terror on a suburban Sydney street
- The bizarre altercation, seemingly sparked by the innocent actions of another motorist who had edged his vehicle into traffic
Sydney police arrested a motorist who revved a chainsaw on a busy roadway during an altercation with another motorist.
The altercation started off after a motorist edged the vehicle of another motorist.
According to 9News, police alleged that just before 5pm, a Toyota Hilux and a Jeep stopped at an intersection of The Horsley Drive and McLaren Street.
Dashcam footage captured the moment a shirtless man sprinted up to a white Jeep that was turning into traffic before throwing a punch at the driver through the open window.
The stunned driver of the Jeep, a 34-year-old man, leaped out of his car and the pair began to brawl on the roadway.
After both men left the scene and a police investigation commenced, the alleged offender was arrested at Fairfield Police Station last night around 8:30 pm and charged with affray and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offense.
In the footage of the incident, the shirtless man is seen pacing along the road; revving a chainsaw.
“I’ve never seen that. I’ve only seen this in movies,” witness John Melal told 9NEWS.
The alleged offender was granted conditional bail and is set to appear at Fairfield Local Court on May 7.
