- Four head revisors in the 2016 Vice Presidential manual recount of votes quit
- Bongbong Marcos expressed concern over the sudden withdrawal of the revisors
- VP Robredo’s camp confirmed the resignation of the revisors
The camp of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos was surprised and concerned over the sudden resignation of four Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) head revisors of the manual recount of votes for the 2016 Vice Presidential race.
The resignation of the head revisors came just a day after the Supreme Court sitting as PET kicked off the manual recount. The PET has yet to reveal the reason behind the resignation, as per CNN Philippines.
“I hope this will not result in another round of delays especially now that we have started to uncover clear signs of fraud. They are no ordinary revisors, having undergone rigid psychological test and meticulous screening by the PET,” Marcos said in a statement, adding his camp was surprised and concerned about the resignation.
Vice President Leni Robredo’s camp confirmed and called the withdrawal of the head revisors as “unfortunate as this will once more cause delay in the proceedings.”
