In a series of weeklong drug buy-bust operations, several members of a notorious drug syndicate in Mandaluyong City have been arrested.
According to the Inquirer, at least 14 members of the Junnel Adriano drug group were arrested by the Mandaluyong Police. The latest to be arrested was Manuel Tumawas; allegedly the right hand man of the group’s leader, Adriano.
Tumawas was nabbed at Block 38, Sitaw Street in Welfare Ville Compound, Barangay Addition Hills around 10 p.m. on Thursday, April 12. Seized from him were 17 sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P531,000.
The other 13 members of the drug syndicate were arrested in separate police operations that started on April 7.
Their leader, listed as among the Top 10 wanted criminals in the city, was arrested in 2017 for robbery but was able to post bail and is currently in hiding.
The Mandaluyong Police thanked the local officials and residents who gave them information through text messages about the group’s illegal activities.
