Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson is faced with charges of gross misconduct, serious dishonesty and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service by youth activists.
The student leaders from Akbayan Youth files new cases against Uson at the Office of the Ombudsman after they accused the official of allegedly spreading lies or fake news. Chanting “Fire Mocha” the group cited several incidences where Uson spread wrong information to her nearly 5.6 million Facebook followers.
Shaniah Bulangis, co-convener of Youth Resist, told ABS-CBN Uson falsely claimed that St. Scholastica’s College forced their students to join the rally against Marcos’ burial in Libingan ng mga Bayani back in November 2017.
She also noted the blunder that stirred the netizens when Uson mistakenly said that Mayon was in Naga. Uson also encouraged the public to visit the wake of a policemen who turned out was dead a long time ago.
Last year, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV already filed criminal and administrative charges against Uson for uploading photos of his alleged offshore bank accounts.
