During a recent concert in Pangasinan, Asia’s song bird Regine Velaquez-Alcasid admitted that she doesn’t have talent in composing songs. Although, she highly encourages other artists including her husband Ogie Alcasid, who is a known composer of her hit song “Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka” and “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” to keep on composing beautiful songs.
Last April 14, Regine performed with fellow GMA-7 singers Christian Bautista, and Julie Anne San Jose. They gave a high-quality performance in the recently concluded event 3 Stars 1 Heart concert held at the CSI Stadia Jimmy L. Fernandez Center in Dagupan, Pangasinan.
The three extremely talented Kapuso singers showcased their powerful renditions of various hit songs including OPM music in the two-hour singing event. One of the event’s highlight was when they sang medleys of OPM icons Eraserheads and composer George Canseco.
The 47-year-old wife and singer belted out her winning piece from previous singing competition “In Your Eyes” by George Benson while Christian sang Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up,” and Julie Anne performed “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus.
During the show, the lovely Songbird of Asia complimented singer-songwriter Julie Anne San Jose for her gift in composing wonderful song pieces. She also motivated her to keep on using her talent given by God to write inspiring songs. “Asia’s Pop Sweetheart” and YouTuber responded with thanks. She also mentioned that Regine is someone whom she looks up to.
The three will also perform in the 3 Stars 1 Heart concert that will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre on June 16, 2018.
