- Rupali Meshram came to rescue her goat with a stick when it was attacked by a tiger
- Meshram suffered injuries to her head, waist, legs and hands, but they were only superficial and she has been able to make a full recovery
A woman from India was very fortunate to be alive after she fought off a tiger with a stick which attacked her goat.
Rupali Meshram, 23, was in her home when she heard her goat scream. She ran out of the house to find a tiger who wants her goat for snack. The woman then took a stick and hit the tiger to fend it off.
The tiger who is now unhappy focused his aggression on Meshram instead, and attacked her. Meshram’s mother, who was also attacked by the tiger, saved her daughter by dragging her inside the house.
Unfortunately, the goat did not survive the attack.
Miraculously, Meshram and her mom – who got a wound near her eye — sustained just minor injuries. Meshram suffered injuries to her head, waist, legs and hands, but they were only superficial and she has been able to make a full recovery.
“I thought my daughter was going to die,” the mom told BBC Hindi.
Reports say that they had called a forest guard but the tiger was gone already before he arrived 30 minutes later.
The village is often frequented by wild animals due its proximity to a wildlife park.
