- She’s taking a more positive and holistic approach in managing the disease
Michelle Madrigal revealed that she’s in a “transition” stage of her life as she battles Hashimoto’s disease.
On Instagram, the actress explained what the autoimmune disease is. She wrote, “It can cause hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid. It means that my immune system makes antibodies that attack the thyroid gland. The thyroid becomes damaged and can’t make enough thyroid hormones.”
Mitch admitted that she has developed goiter as a result of the disease.
She also said her doctors have yet to prescribe her any medication. The disease has no direct cure. So she is taking a more positive and holistic approach in managing the disease.
“I have been doing my research on AIP [Autoimmune Protocol] diet and paleo diet, so I will most likely start with it after our vacation. I started cutting sugar & gluten into my diet and it is amazing that I am not really craving sweets lately,” Mich said.
In October last year, Michelle gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Anika.
