The Miss Universe Organization officials admitted that they are considering the Philippines as the venue for the next Miss Universe pageant.
MUO president Paula Shugart said the Philippines is a great option but they are still ironing out details. She was quoted by Push saying, “We’re evaluating the opportunities and possibilities of Miss Universe this year and so all I can say is stay tuned.”
Three Miss Universe title holders, 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, 2016 Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere and reigning Miss Universe Demi Leigh Nel-Peters gathered for a fashion event in Manila.
Former Ilocos Sur Gov Luis “Chavit” Singson, who helped sponsor the 65th Miss Universe in Manila, said that some businessmen in China, Korea, Vietnam and Thailand are also interested in hosting the event.
