Voters who were not able to find their names in the voters’ list in Bagong Silang High School, Caloocan complained during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) election day.
It was as early as 7:00 a.m. Monday when some of the complainants, not first time voters, were dismayed upon finding out their names were not on any of the lists of voting precincts.
“Bumoto ako kay Duterte, bumoto ako sa mayor, ilang beses akong bumoto! Ngayon lang nawawala,” Mrs. Bugauit, a voter, said in an interview with ABS CBN.
[I voted for Duterte, I voted for the mayor, I voted many times! Only this time my name was missing.]
Mrs. Bugauit decided to just go home and skip her right to vote.
100,000 voters were expected to vote in the school.
According to ABS CBN News, Bagong Silang in Caloocan is the considered as the biggest barangay in the country, with about 247,000 residents.
Myrna Pacheco, school coordinator of Bagong Silang High School, advised the voters to look for their names in other schools within the area.
Pacheco added that the same incident of confusion and dismay also happened during the 2016 presidential elections.
