- PNP Chief Albayalde ordered two police officers driving colorum vans to be relieved from their posts
- The two were caught driving unmarked vehicles being used as passenger vans
- Albayalde said may the apprehension serve as a warning to other cops involved in illegal activities
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar D. Albayalde has ordered two police officers caught by the authorities driving colorum vans to be relieved from their posts.
The new PNP Chief ordered the immediate relief of the Southern Police District’s Chief Insp. Juan Saldua Cipriano Jr. and PNP Aviation Security Group’s Senior Police Officer 4 Ronnie Arimbuyutan Druja.
Police reports said that both of them were caught by Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT) and the Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) driving unmarked vehicles being used as passenger vans.
Albayalde said the two policemen will be investigated by the Counter Intelligence Task Force and will be placed under the Police Holding and Accounting Unit.
Albayalde said in a statement that he’s hoping the apprehension may serve as a warning to other policemen involved in such illegal activities.
“Nagpapasalamat ako na hindi nila pinalampas ‘yong mali ng ating mga pulis. Magsilbi sana itong babala sa iba pang mga pulis,” he said.
(I am thankful that these wrongdoings of our policemen are not tolerated. May this be a lesson to other members of the force.)
