Actress Krista Miller was set free from almost two years of incarceration after the Valenzuela City Regional Trial Court Branch 283 acquitted her from illegal drug trading charges.

As per an ABS-CBN story, Miller, whose real name is Krystalyn Engle y Bacolod, was released from prison on May 25. Judge Snooky Maria Ana C. Bareno-Sagayo ruled that there was not enough evidence to convict the actress.

“The accused is released from confinement after having been acquitted for the crime charged against her for Violation of Section 5, in relation to Section 26, Article II, R.A. 9165 in criminal case 1869-V-16 as per order of released issued and signed in by the HON. SNOOKY MARIA ANA C. BARCENO-SAGAYO, Presiding Judge Regional Trial Court Branch 283, Valenzuela City, dated May 25, 2018,” the court said.

Miller’s Certificate of Discharge was signed by the warden of the Valenzuela City Jail, Chief Inspector Jundelina Jagunap.

Aaron Medina, Miller’s co-defendant, was also released from prison.

Drug charges against Miller were dropped for insufficiency of evidence

Miller and Medina were nabbed by cops during a buy-bust operation at a gasoline station in Valenzuela City on October 14, 2016. Prior to their arrest, two female models who were earlier arrested for illegal drug use pointed to Miller as their source of drugs.
